Jackpaul Singh, the owner of the ARCO station, expressed his astonishment at the back-to-back wins. “It’s either good karma or luck, but either way, we’re thrilled to see our customers win big,” Singh said. The $1 million prize was clinched by a Lotto Million 1 ticket matching the numbers 1, 8, 12, 16, 28, and 49 in the July 6 drawing.

Specifically, Senate Bill No. 3342 extends the deadline for the installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems in townhouses to the first day of the 13th month following the enactment of the original statute, moving the date from August 2024 to January 2025. This amendment provides developers additional time to comply with the new safety standards.
Additionally, the bill exempts townhouses that fall under the one-and two-family dwelling subcode from the sprinkler system requirement if their permit applications were submitted before the bill's enactment. This modification aims to prevent retroactive application of the rules to projects already underway.
The bill also adjusts the timeline for the Commissioner of Community Affairs to adopt the necessary rules and regulations, moving the deadline from June 1, 2024, to the first day of the 12th month post-enactment. This change allows more time for the adoption of guidelines that align with the International Residential Code on sprinkler installations.
